Color 101 (part 2)

First post i ever did on my blog was about basic color theory. There's so much to talk when it comes to understanding colors... So i guess i'll just make few parts of it, lets call my first part Colors. The Prequel lol
Let's continue shall we? :)
So, if you’ve ever picked up the latest issue of some fashion magazine and red about this season’s "new black"- you know that "it colors" come and go in fashion. You went and bought alot of stuff in that color.. but it just doesn't.. look good? Happened to me....
You see, there are some shades that are always going to look good on you, and some that aren’t. No color looks good on everyone, and it’s just a fact. This has to do with your coloring, or the way your eye color, hair, and skin tone combine to give you a look. It’s really important to know what your perfect colors are, or you risk looking completely messed up!
The method called color analysis breaks people’s colorings down into Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. These color seasons are broken down even further, into 3 different categories per season. It’s not a perfect system, but it’s really helpful if you want to get a basic idea of what shades work for you.
How to know which one are you? Take this quiz:
If you’re having trouble with the first question, find a mirror placed in a well-lit place. Bring one item of clothing in each color. If you don’t have one of those, don’t worry, just use what you have. Put each piece of clothing up near your face, and observe what it does to your skin tone. If the color becomes the focus instead of your face, it’s not right. If it makes you light up, makes your eyes look brighter and your hair look better, you’ve found your winner!
If you are Asian, Latina or African, you will probably be an Autumn or Winter. If you are Caucasian, you will probably be a Spring or Summer.

As every season breaks down to three more categories i'm going to make this week dedicated to cover all these categories one season per day. I'll be starting with Spring today :)

1. Light Spring
  • Eyes: blue, green, turqoise or light hazel.
  • Hair: light/medium golden blonde, ash blonde, light/medium brown
  • Skin: Ivory with peach tones, pink beige.
 2. Pure Spring
  • Eyes: Turqoise blue, green, golden brown or topaz.
  • Hair: Medium/dark brown, brown/black, possibly with red highlights.
  • Skin: Bronze, deep warm brown, brown-black, light ivory, light peach or percelain.
 3. Warm Spring:
  • Eyes: Topaz, olive green, light hazel, warm turqoise.
  • Hair: Light golden brown, red, strawberry blonde, deep golden blonde
  • Skin: Golden beige, porcelain, possibly with freckles.

If there are freckles they are gold-brown. Lips – warm red. Eyelashes and eyebrows are of the same tint that the hair is (light or brown) but in fact they could be a bit darker than hair. Spring skin type acquires the tan pretty easy despite the delicate skin color. The skin gets the warm reddish-honey, gold-brown or dark-brow hue.

To be continued...

  2. Sorry about the previous comment... I wrote 'can't wait to see part 2' instead of part 3. Anyway...

This is a really lovely post.

    Have a great day!

  3. I LOVE THIS POST! It's so informative!
Im waiting for summer, which is me :) and I know I have a cold undertone.

  4. This is really helpful. Thanks a lot for sharing!

  5. Oooh, that is so much fun. I love color theory, although I always seem to fall into like two categories. I have blonde and red in my hair so I never know what to call myself..all I know is I look horrible in beige..I'm going to be here on your blog studying this for a while. Fantastic post darling!!! xoxo

  6. wow, great tips, haha now im going to go find my color. I notice when I look in my closet i have tons of blacks , navy blue & grey. I am starting to bring in some colors for the spring/summer time. as for make up ? what goes good with brown skin ?

  7. @Jassy - Thanks :) If you have brown skin you probobly will be Summer, so wait for the next post :) This was only for Springs :D
Though almost every time you can fall in more than one categorie like Logan said :) What i post is basically raw theory, you have some understanding and thinking to do yoursef lol. I'll try to explain everything as much as i can though :)
Thanks so so much for stopping by! :)

  8. I haven't found mine yet...I think >>;; I've been laughed at for having pink undertones only in the middle of my face and having yellow/gold undertones on the sides of my face --;;; Help?

  9. @Jessu - I saw your pics and i think you probobly are winter type girl :)You are really cute by the way. Patience honey, i will continue posting with more specifics as this needs alot of research for me to do also:)I also think that you can be pure spring, but i couldn't really saw the color of your eyes.. so check it out yourself :)
In which color do you look better? For springs cold pink color turns their skin pale and lips blue. Yellow/salmon color vice versa - brings some freshness to the skin making it cold a bit. Winter and summer types skin looks better near a cold-pink tint unlike to the yellow/salmon hue that turns the skin greyish, and brings out the under eye circles :)

  10. Thanks^^ I will work on my patience. Not my strong suit.

I have brown eyes and my hair is a little...brownish (not jet black or anything). The colors I feel comfortable in? I don't know if I have ever tried the colors you described. I think the problem is that I can be very pale in the winter time and very dark in the summer time, so when I'm tanned I have more asian skin (in terms of tone) and in the winter time slightly more pinkish. So in the summer time I feel fine wearing yellow, but in the winter time I feel...pale.

Best beauty remedies form the nature - COFEE GROUNDS

Awhile ago i've read somewhere a big article about how to use leftover coffee grounds to figth cellulite and ever since then it was stuck in my head. You know, how coffe grounds are useful only for fortune tellers and for war with the orange peel skin on tushy. Boy was i wrong! It is amazing how much the mother nature can offer us - beauty product junkies. To get an amazing beauty remedy for anything you can possibly think of, you don't need to do much or pay more than a.. dollar/euro (this is how i imagine a cup of coffee costs.... lol) So i put together a list of ways of how to use almighty coffee grounds and tried them all, so let's see the results!

This is how my obssesion with coffee grounds started. I was visiting my grandmother for a few days and she noticed how i wash my hair almost OR every single day. I had to sit down with her and listen to a looooong moral about how it's unhealthy for the hair and yada yada yada... So -  ok -  i said, - they get oily really …

Off topic - relationships! I am sure i am not the only one!?

I have huge fear - i am affraid to appear too clingy. I am not affraid to show my affection to someone, but i don't ever want to be the one, who takes the first step. The first step not necceserily means going to a guy i like and expressing this to him, but i hate being the one, who texts or e-mails first. God forbid be the one who asks a GUY out. I could know, that this particular guy REALLY likes me, and i won't be turned down, i still hate taking the first step. Do you have the same feeling? Like, i want to talk to someone, but i have this ugly feeling in my stomach, that maybe he is busy and i'll be bothering him and he won't, say, text back and then i feel that i lost my... quality? my secrecy.. i don't even know how to put it, but i am sure you all understand it. This especialy is a big problem in the beggining of love affairs. How do i let a guy know that i like him? (This is rethorical question)

So let's call my complex A Princess complex, because i feel…
